On The Fence? Head For The Border Town Of Thunder Bay!

This itinerary is best from late spring to early autumn.
DAY ONE
9:30 – 1:30 pm
Known for their fresh Dutch cheese, Thunder Oak Cheese Farm is the place to witness the entire cheese-making process. Afterwards, Take a Walk Through the Past at Founders’ Museum & Pioneer Village, a re-created early 1900’s heritage village with artifacts on display throughout the site. Inquire about a catered lunch.
2 – 3:00 pm
Kakabeka Falls, “Niagara of the North,” is a spectacular waterfall that plunges 131 feet over sheer cliffs. Excellent viewing opportunities exist along the boardwalk and from observation pods on both sides of the river. Programs for tour groups available from June to early October.
3:30 – 4:00 pm
Check into one of the many group-friendly hotels.
4 – 6:00 pm
Take a guided tour at Fort William Historical Park. This living history brings you back in time with its native camp, great hall, fur stores, and more. Experience Canada’s fur trade adventure and meet costumed characters from the early 1800’s including voyageurs, artisans and Ojibwa.
6:15 pm
Enjoy a Voyageur’s Feast hosted by historic characters.
DAY TWO
9 – 10:00 am
Take in spectacular views from two of Canada’s longest suspension footbridges at Eagle Canyon Adventureswhere one of the footbridges spans 600 feet across the canyon walls.
10:30 – 12:30 pm
Amethyst, glistening in its natural state, can be found at Amethyst Mine Panorama. Collect your own specimen at this open surface mine.
1 – 2:30 pm
Lunch at one of Thunder Bay’s eclectic collection of restaurants.
2:30 – 4:30 pm
Check out the Thunder Bay Art Gallery’s collection of “original” Aboriginal art that offers interactive offers Woodland Art workshops where guests can “make and take away” their woodland art creations.
5 – 7:00 pm
Thunder Bay offers a wide variety of dining experiences. Bon appetité!
7:00 pm
