Here in Hinckley…

From Itineraries Minnesota Summer Issue 2007

This itinerary is best in summer.

8 – 11:30 am
Wake up to the beauty of Northeast Minnesota. Today your group will rent canoes from Pardun’s Canoe Rental, and paddle peacefully down the scenic St. Croix River, located within the St Croix State Park in Hinckley. Experience a relaxing and unique way to see wildlife in its natural habitat.

11:30 – 1:00 pm
Stop into Tobie’s Restaurant and Bakery for lunch and unbelievable desserts. Their bakery is stocked with fresh donuts, pies, rolls and their world famous cinnamon rolls.

1 – 3:00 pm
You are sure to find a treasure from yesteryear at the Antique’s America Mall. Visitors can admire wares and walk around this enormous establishment featuring antiques from over 70 different dealers.

3 – 4:30 pm
Visit the Hinckley Fire Museum and see the devastation the 1894 fire had on this community. The combination of the hot, dry summer and the numerous area logging towns of the 1800’s set the stage for this disaster.

4:30 – 6:00 pm
Have a sit down dinner at the Wildfire Café in downtown Hinckley. They offer a full menu of soups, salads, burgers, and appetizers.

6:00 pm
Sign into your hotel room at Grand Casino Hinckley and enjoy the rest of your night in the Casino. With over 2,100 slots, 28 blackjack tables and a mighty BINGO hall you’re sure to win some cash, or at least have fun trying.
